La casa
During the two months following the earthquake that devastated Venezuela, a young photographer, a grandmother mourning the death of her grandson, a group of student rescuers, and several displaced families reveal the tragedy’s many dimensions. In the absence of the state, citizens recover their dead, assist survivors, preserve their collective memory, and build new spaces they can still call home. Through their stories, La Casa asks not only how destroyed buildings can be rebuilt, but also how a community can be reconstructed after a collective loss.
